This is Duncan Rouch's sixth book of poetry, following, 'The Luminous Horizon', 'Eye of the Storm King', 'Accompanying the Sun', 'Sounds of the Sea' and 'The Low Winter Sun' poetry books, with similar themes. These are, a type of 'praise poetry', connected to the idea that it would useful to acknowledge the positive characteristics of people, and a type of 'challenge poetry', to reflect on challenges that people face in life, from both internal and external issues, often to have an emotionally darker feel, though often with at least a little light open for hope. Key features are two poem sets, 'Spiritual Failures' and 'Cambodia'.
