'The Sign of the Four' was the second Sherlock Holmes novel, and presents a more human and sympathetic portrait of the famous detective than the previous book, 'A Study in Scarlet'. In 'The Sign of Four', Holmes and Watson must solve a seemingly incomprehensible murder mystery, involving treasure and a secret brought from India.
