Ice Hockey Beginnings is a short memoir that describes the author's experiences with ice hockey during a time when females were not really allowed to play the game. It also provides a bit of history of ice hockey-especially with women in hockey, a sport that was invented in Canada. As a child, Lorna played on outdoor rinks. Other than ice skates, there was little hockey equipment available. The ice hockey players were male. The females mostly watched them and rarely had an opportunity to participate in the game.Worldwide, there are now more sport options, available equipment, and team sports.Lorna's involvement with ice hockey helped her influence others to participate in this sport.
