S. Payne's debut novella, a dystopian thriller, will project you into a future where harming animals is now a crime. The CAA-R, Crimes Against Animals - Rehabilitation, initiative was launched in 2042, led by the enigmatic tech guru, Jameson Drake. He and his crew of entrepreneurs are leading the way to change behaviour worldwide - rehabilitating those who purposefully harm animals and making the world a better place. At least, that was the original plan. But, with his new partner, the Hunter, supported by Artificial Intelligence humanoids, rehabilitation is no longer the aim. Right now, the focus is on revenge. For shouldn't those who harm animals suffer? And wouldn't it be a joy to watch their suffering? Ethical lines blur as these radical leaders take their plans to the next level. However, a tenacious reporter called Jayde hooks up with Evie, JD's original founding partner for CAA-R. Will they turn the tables and get CAA-R back on track? Or is it too late? Has the desire for revenge reached a tipping point from which there is no return? S. Payne was born in Bristol, UK, and has since spent many years traveling the world, and working overseas, including Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. With over twenty years of experience in corporate environments, Payne's writing and animal rescue work take place in the spare moments outside of work. This is Payne's debut novella, though more awaits should there be a willing audience.
