This book was written on airplanes. Some of it was also written in airports and houses but mostly on airplanes. Airplanes so old that they didn't have TVs in the back of the seats or a wireless entertainment system. Given the choice, I would watch a movie, even a bad movie, over writing. But my weekly commute to a worksite (two hours each way) gave me lots of time for pondering. And ponder I did. I found myself telling stories about how bad my bosses had been over the years. I think that I've worked for three genuinely good bosses in my career and the rest were either incompetent, self-serving or sociopathic (commonly all three). I have written about them for posterity; for the benefit of future generations, who will probably work and live in a utopian existence and never experience bad management first hand. I do not expect that this will become a text book.
