As a friendship builds between the two, the captain has nefarious plans for this planet, of which oddly little is known. After a turn of events, Ixta and Nacón are married, and things turn sinister as a rebel faction tries to assassinate members of the royal family to take over the planet. Ixta's friend, Dr. T, an alien doctor, helps her through some very difficult times. The captain's treachery is revealed, and things develop that will be addressed in further books in this space opera saga.
