In the space of one dark stormy night, Sharle; suffering with memory loss from a blow to her head; finds herself running for her life through a city thrown into turmoil by her own earlier actions and her stepfathers instigation of a civil war; along the way she encounters a family of dwarves who rally to her aid as the forces pursuing her turn up the heat to locate her whereabouts, with her abilities slowly returning she learns she must be home before the sun rises and the magic keeping her alive fails.
