Topics such as policies to strengthen school councils, policies to fund early childhood education, the Mais Educação (More Education) Programme, comprehensive education, rural education and the National Education Plan, policies to assist, prevent and eradicate child labour, are an integral and significant part of the recent and profuse landscape of educational policies. Complementarily, this academic production presents topics that encourage reflection on the curriculum and ethnic-racial relations in early childhood education, on the evaluation process and pedagogical resources in the teaching-learning process. Some of the research results presented in this book aim to support understanding of the much-desired improvement in the quality of Brazilian education, making it possible to raise the educational level at all levels.
