Introduction and Objectives: Women emerge as holders of social significance that is essential to life, in this historiographical context of medicine as extras, but with the soul and essence of protagonists who gradually take their place on the stage. The main objective of this research is to describe some of the main academic, scientific, and political-institutional contributions arising from female protagonism at the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia, highlighting the historical and cultural moments involved. Methodology: historical research, with the following stages: organisation of sources (Gaz. Méd. Bahia, FMB Archive, etc.), verification of the authenticity and veracity of the facts, analysis and presentation of qualitative data (chronology, periodisation, interpretation of content) and quantitative data (presentation in graphs).
