"These are a collection of my poems from 2018 to 2025. During those years, I had as much say in my life as a twig in a river might have. It was a strange time, for sure. I was dragged by the tides, swallowed and spit up by a few fish, dragged along and under a few currents. But there I was moving. What I'm saying is this: these poems were alongside me for all of it and so have a personal relationship to one another through my floating down this river of life. That's what connects them. But what lies within these pages, the genre and topics discussed? I don't like talking about that sort of thing. I only hope these poems reach someone who might find enjoyment in them, who can see the slight humor, and maybe find some charm in their faults. Ultimately, I hope these poems can show that life is worth living, as all great art should, and will distract from the commercialized and artificial strife in our world. People enjoying one another's company and being out in nature, pointing these things out as what's good for the soul: that's what I hope one finds in these pages. Let us all be closer to God." -- Alan Robert Massey
