Every journey begins with a first step. For us, the greatest journey of all is not simply toward heaven in the distant future but toward holiness here and now. The prophet Isaiah foresaw it long ago: "A highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks that way" (Isaiah 35:8).This is the road we are called to walk-the Highway of Holiness. It is the way of Christ, the path of prayer and purity, the life nourished through the Eucharist, and the road that leads us into the very presence of God.Young people often ask: How can I live close to God in today's world? How can I stay strong in faith? How can I find joy and peace in a life that feels confusing and difficult? The answer is not a philosophy, nor a list of rules, but a Person-Jesus Christ Himself, who said: "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).To walk this highway means to follow Jesus in love, obedience, and courage, and above all in communion with Him through the Eucharist. In the Eucharist, heaven is not only promised for tomorrow-it begins in our hearts today. Christ Himself feeds us with His Body and Blood so that we may walk with strength and hope on the way of holiness. In the pages of this book, we will walk with companions who chose this way early in life. From Scripture, we will meet Joseph, Samuel, Daniel, Timothy, David, and St. Mary. We will see how the Lord Jesus Christ is the perfect example for every youth. We will discover how the early Church lived the Eucharist as its heartbeat. And we will reflect on the shining witness of a modern blessed one of our own time, Carlo Acutis, who discovered in the Eucharist his joy, his mission, and his highway of holiness. My dear children and youth, this book is written for you. You are not too young to walk this way. You are not too weak to live a holy life. The Highway of Holiness is open before you. Christ Himself invites you to walk with Him, to be fed by His Body and Blood, and to find joy in being united with Him every day.Let us begin this journey together, trusting the Father who calls us, the Son who leads us, and the Spirit who strengthens us.Heavenly Father, You are the source of life and love. You have opened for us the way of holiness through Your Son, Jesus Christ, and You strengthen us by Your Spirit. Teach me to walk faithfully on the Highway of Holiness. Feed me with the Body and Blood of Christ, guide my steps with Your wisdom, and keep my heart close to You. May my life glorify Your holy name, until the day I see You face to face in the joy of heaven. Amen.Hegumen Abraam SlemanJersey City, New Jerseyfrsleman@CopticChurch.net
