Take a trip into the world of Willamina and Wendy, where exploring God's creation is the best kind of fun. A walk in the snow, a splash in the creek, or even a road trip-adventures big or small happen every day. Willamina, age ten, loves to dance and sing, but exploring is her favorite. Seven-year-old Wendy is along for the fun; she's a bit more reflective than her sister, but she always has the best ideas. Willamina and Wendy is a collection of thirteen short stories. Each story is short enough to be a bedtime story or brief read-aloud session. The stories center around the innocent outdoor fun of sisters Willamina and Wendy. Most of the stories take place outdoors in a small country town in Kansas, a couple take place at National State Parks (Mount Rushmore and Carlsbad Caverns) and one story takes place at a Catholic Mass at Easter time. The stories were inspired by the author's childhood experiences. So, there is no magic or fantasy elements, but the Christian faith and religion is represented in some stories. The girls are usually adventuring without parental supervision which matched the reality of the times back in the 90's.
