A woman is found dead in the backseat of her own car on the morning of November 10th, 1924. She is laying peacefully and appears to have died of poisoning. Her car is a brand new, expensive Lincoln convertible with the top up to hide her body. Cornelia had been out having a birthday celebration dinner with her busband, her butler, and her friend the night she died. With three suspects, Jane realizes someone had poisoned Cornelia during her meal, and she never returned home again. Even more intriguing, Cornelia was found at the docks in the southern part of Manhattan Island, far from where she lived. Jane knows the scene is staged, and she must figure out who killed Cornelia, and why. One or more of the suspects are lying, and Jane will question everyone involved to help deliever justice to a woman wrongfully taken from her life. The body in the white phaeton was only the beginning...and someone doesn't want Jane to know the truth.
