Vogrie - A special place where history, healing and adventure live among the trees. Long before it became a public park, Vogrie Estate was cared for by Captain James Dewar, a brave Victorian adventurer who fought in the Zulu war and travelled across the world collecting seeds, stories, and treasures. Together with his wife, Catherine they transformed the grounds with trees and plants they had collected on their worldwide adventures. Captain Dewar and Catherine sensed a special magic in the beauty of Vogrie and wanted to create a haven for people and wildlife. They were known for their kindness and love for the community. Their legacy continues today as families, visitors, and early years explorers enjoy the peaceful magic of the estate. The Magic of Vogrie is inspired by the real adventures of Captain Dewar and the kindness of Catherine, celebrating nature, history and the healing power of the outdoors.
