This book describes in detail the steps a prospective couple takes to get married according to traditional Uvwie-Urhobo custom, in Nigeria. Among other things, it details two introductions of the groom to the bride's family, the bride price and fees required of the groom, and a highly dramatic but entertaining marriage ceremony, filled with metaphoric and witty dialogues that have become the hallmark of marriage ceremonies among the Urhobo tribe. The ceremonial duties that the bride undertakes as she transitions to her husband's home are also highlighted. The last part of the book features basic facts about Nigeria-climate, language, people, culture and food. A supplemental content section lists commonly used words in Urhobo language, translated into English.
