I groaned softly. My entire body ached. As I awoke I realized I wasn't out in the ocean anymore. I was laying in some hole, in the floor of a weird white cave. It's not a natural cave, I thought dimly. Must be hand-made, maybe I'm in the city. The Elder said something about Sírens that lived in the city had hand-carved caves. Shaking off the slight dizziness I felt, I stared up at the opening of the hole just above my head. Remembering the blue Síren, I tensed up. I slowly poked my head out of the hole, ready to attack. I sniffed the water warily. Not smelling anything dangerous, I crept out and looked around. Where am I? Why am I here? As a wanderling Síren, Echo was now of age and must leave the safety of her father's terrain. Seeking a territory of her own, roaming the vast ocean world of Neptune, she instinctively followed a path hundreds before her had taken. Kraken, rogue sea serpents, other Síren, Echo had been taught how to handle those. What she was not prepared for was being kidnapped and sent to Earth, a planet she knew next to nothing about. Left stranded with no way back, and unable to communicate with the voice that had guided her all her life, Echo was alone and confused. She must now use her knowledge and skills to learn how to survive on a planet that doesn't follow the same rules of nature she grew up with. Faced with a deadly illness, an absurdly friendly Síren, and Earth's own strange and dangerous inhabitants, will Echo learn to adapt in order to survive?
