Learning Circle Graduation DayA year had passed since Deveron and Vail first joined the learning circle. The once small and nervous peachicks had grown into confident young peacocks. Their first year of growth had brought about many changes, with the boys coming into their vibrant colored, longer tail feathers, and the girls showing vibrant colors under their wing feathers.Deveron, Vail, and their same-year-aged hatchlings arrived at the learning circle, where Mr. and Mrs. White had prepared snacks to reward the group for completing their first year of education. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead.Mr. White stood before the group and announced, "Congratulations to each of you for passing your first year of the learning circle. It is now time for you to start planning your first adventure outside the safety of the Featherwood Forest flock nesting region."He then asked Mrs. White to divide the group into five smaller groups. "Alright," Mrs. White began, "Lilly, Poppy, Lang, Deveron, and Vail will be your leaders."But before she could continue, Vail interrupted with a request, "Could I please be teamed with Deveron?"Mrs. White anticipated this request and replied, "I understand that you and Deveron would like to be in the same group. However, each of you has unique strengths that can better help others. If you were both in the same smaller group, others would miss out on the well-needed experience that both of you can provide."Mrs. White then continued, "Each group will have one parent assigned as a group adviser. However, none will have any parent of the members within the group."The young peacocks understood the wisdom in Mrs. White's words and prepared to embark on their new adventures with excitement and a sense of purpose.
