Asher and Dominic are 15 year old Latino teenagers trying to navigate the aggressive South Bronx streets without becoming another cruel statistic. Just getting from their apartments to their high school is like stepping through a battlefield of landmines, hoping to escape the random explosions and ensuing shrapnel. Their mantra? Never make eye contact with strangers, never show affection towards each other in public, stay out of certain neighborhoods because of gangs, step around the orange caps and used needles strewn all over the sidewalks, and stay clear of swaying tranq zombies and the mentally deranged. Like a game of dystopian laser tag, survival is a daily quest . . . with one heart eventually searching for a ghost in the mist.
