There's a lot of rubbish talked and written on this subject. There's no such thing as "Buddhism". The sort of things asserted in the "Popular" works on "Buddhism" and by those who are a bit "Buddhist" have as much to do with the opinions of the Buddha as the opinions of the Ku Klux Klan have to do with Christianity. This book springs from postgraduate research into Buddhist (sic) philosophy done at the London University School of Oriental and African Studies. What's hidden in the "Popular" works is the subject's susceptibility to sensible analysis.
