This story is a thorough recount of an extramarital affair. It details the flourishing of this relationship from "innocent" flirting all the way to devious and planned encounters that eroded the bedrock of a once-strong marriage. It shows the devastating aftermath of these poor choices and the emotional and physical toll on all involved. Most of all, it shows the reality of flawed human nature and the selfishness that all of us can easily succumb to. The importance of faith and the role God plays in our lives cannot be understated as the only solution to truly overcome this sinful nature. This work is listed as a fiction novel, but it is wholly based on a true story. The scenarios detailed within were pulled from fresh memory. It is a retelling of a dark period in my life. A time when I abandoned those that loved me the most to chase desires born of selfishness and lust. Please know that I am no author. I'm not even an experienced writer. I am a pharmacist who speaks in the language of healthcare and writes daily SOAP notes, not novels. I have no affinity for metaphors, synonyms, or English composition. My expression of this story is average at best. It is no masterpiece. But, it is a genuine effort to compose my experiences and share them with the world, even if only a small numbers of readers may stumble upon it. My life was saved by the grace of God, and He used my own humility as a tool to alter my character, and better the lives of my children. That is the core truth imbedded in the novel. The story is not perfectly written by any means, but is does contain wisdom. And, if the novel's words can convince even one young man to be spared from the evil of infidelity, then it was worth my time to write. Thank you for considering this novel. And to those who have written any review (whether positive or not), thank you taking the time to read.
