Parents are inundated these days with advice from "professions", especially on the internet. In this comparison of the Montessori birth-to-three practices with those of the tradition of Bhutan, it is possible to compare two different systems of raising children in the first three years of life-both very well tested. Then parents can decide what facets, perhaps of both, align with their own hopes and dreams for raising children. In conversations with parents and grandparents around the world where I have explored these questions, it has been very satisfying to learn just when the traditions are truly helpful.Montessori education is, and has always been, based on observation and continued learning. I hope you enjoy this little peek into two examples.
