A deeply personal debut collection, Clipped Wings & Other Things That Keep a Bird From Flying, traces the development of Haley's authentic poetic voice from 2017-2023. Intentionally avoiding convention where possible, these poems are metered purely by heart. A roadmap to be followed in no particular direction, it charts familiar territory in common poetic themes like social justice and toxic, unrequited love, while also attempting to carve paths of understanding to queer identity.
